Pastor Gene Holley, Jr. is a native of Wichita Falls, Texas. He is married to Karla Layne Holley and has two sons, Cameron and Chad.
Pastor Holley attended Harrell Elementary, McNiel Jr. High and Rider High School before earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Marketing at Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls. Karla spent her formative years in Mesquite, Texas where her father, Murray L. Layne pastored. She attended Christian Life College in Stockton, California and Jackson College of Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi.
Pastor Holley served Life Church as Pastor's Assistant and Youth Pastor under the most recent pastor, Wendell Elms, for over 18 years and then moved his family to the Austin, Texas area to plant a church in Pflugerville in 2006 under Pastor David Bernard and New Life UPC. The Holley's returned to lead their home church in 2008. Pastor Holley is active in teaching, preaching, mentoring, leading a small group and acting as District Secretary for North Texas District UPCI. Karla leads the worship team program, a small group and assists in any way that she can in the programs of Life Church.
Their sons have always been a part of ministry and continue to pursue His calling. Their oldest son, Cameron, is a graduate of Urshan College in St. Louis, MO., a licensed minister with the UPCI and works at CraneWest Advertising as a graphic designer. He is married to Brooke, the Life Church office administrator. They have one beautiful daughter. Their younger son, Chad, attended Midwestern State University with a Finance major, works at Discount Tire as an assistant manager and is recently married to Elycia. She is helping kids reach their reading level at Booker T. Washington Elementary. Both couples lead small groups and ministries at Life Church.
